SpaceX CRS-27, also known as SpX-27, is a resupply mission to the International Space Station (ISS) contracted by NASA and to be flown by SpaceX using a Cargo Dragon. This will be the seventh flight for SpaceX under NASA's CRS Phase 2. The new Cargo Dragon capsules under this contract are designed to land east of Florida in the Atlantic Ocean and will be able to be reused up to five times. The primary payload for this mission is determined by NASA and includes a variety of experiments that will inspire future scientists and explorers and provide valuable insight for researchers. These experiments include projects such as FARGO (Ferrofluid Application Research Goes Orbital) of the Small Satellite Student Society of the University of Stuttgart, as well as experiments from the European Space Agency and NASA Glenn Research Center. Additionally, CubeSats, including NEUDOSE, are planned to be launched as part of this mission.

The NEUDOSE CubeSat, built by students at McMaster University, aims to further our understanding of long-term exposure to space radiation by investigating how charged and neutral particles contribute to the human equivalent dose during low-Earth orbit (LEO) missions. Furthermore, the Northern SPIRIT initiative, supported by the Canadian Space Agency, involves three CubeSats built by students from Yukon University, Aurora Research Institute, and the University of Alberta. These CubeSats will gather magnetic field data of the ionosphere to study small-scale field-aligned currents. Finally, the ELaNa 50 initiative will include two CubeSats from American education institutes, including ARKSat-1 from the University of Arkansas and LightCube from Arizona State University. These experiments and CubeSats will provide valuable scientific data, as well as offer opportunities for education and the development of valuable skills for students involved in the projects.
