You Have Free Benefits!

How many times have you been offered a membership, a credit card, a warranty or a subscription and the company gives you a list of all the wonderful benefits that come along with it? They offer these additional benefits to convince you to sign-up or pay for their product.

Did you realize that God also offers benefits when we "sign-up" with Him? David shares some of these benefits in Psalm 103:2-5,

"Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s."

The good news about God's benefits is that it doesn't cost us anything of value. Jesus tells us in Revelation 21:6,

" I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost."

The only cost in following Christ is to make Him the top priority in our life. We must give up our selfish way of life and take up His way of life. And love Him more than anything else.

As Apostle Paul tells us in Philippians 3:8,

"Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ."

At the moment we repented and accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior, we gained access to an abundance of benefits such as peace, everlasting mercy, forgiveness, love, redemption, rest, eternal life, healing, knowledge, wisdom, strength, companionship, support, satisfied needs, protection, guidance and so much more.

We just have to choose to partake of them by continuing to follow the example of Christ, studying God's word, remaining in His will and praying in the Spirit.

If we neglect our relationship with our Heavenly Father, with Christ and the Holy Spirit, the benefits will diminish and begin to fade away. We become weak, lonely, fearful, stressed, worries take over, and we get lost in the cares of this world.

It's just like those company offers... as long as you continue with their product or service, you have access to their benefits. As long as we continue in Christ, we have access to the abundance of His benefits.

So let us always keep our membership active with our Lord and not let it go dormant. And do what David wrote in Psalms 103: "Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits."
