SUV driver hits crowd at Brownsville, TX bus stop; 8 dead

Officials reported that in the early hours of Sunday, an SUV crashed into a group of people waiting at a bus stop in a Texas border city, resulting in the tragic death of eight individuals and leaving at least 10 others injured.

The victims, believed to be migrants, were gathered near the Ozanam Center, a Catholic Charities facility in Brownsville, according to a senior law enforcement official, NBC News has reported.

Initially, seven deaths were confirmed shortly after the collision occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. Later on Sunday evening, Brownsville Mayor Trey Mendez announced an additional fatality, while emphasizing that several others remain in critical condition.
