Generator down

I purchased a 6,5 KVA diesel generator from Genworks. I have already replaced the battery twice and because it has done 500 plus hours it is out of warrantee. I believe the starter motor has been damaged when the battery failed. When the generator works its quiet and it does a god job. I need to fix it as winter is coming and much shorter days
