BIO: T Patrick Murray is a 52 year old award wining independent filmmaker who attended University of Pennsylvania Annenberg School of Communications like my father before me (who could never afford to attend normally but his father/my grandfather was head of the meal hall and got him in back door) Frustrated by the lack of creative curriculum, he made a film with two actors and no crew and submitted to the best film school (NYU TISCH) and was admitted! After partnering with student celebrities Tom Hulce (Amadeus) and Darryl Hannah (oddly not as beautiful as rendered by the camera) but both are brilliant actors I made friends with a guy more ADHD than me who would end up the assistant of Harvey Weinstein later in life but now we were each other crews I recall making a radical modern art video piece with the subject walking to the camera and hundreds of pedestrians unaware of our shoot all oddly walk backwards without looking I earned an A for that After a year there I dropped out because I was unsure about marriage to my fiancé and I figured a semester tuition at NYU could buy a 35mm Arriflex crystal sync motion picture camera… a 59 year work of pure art So I dropped out, let my girl down easy (she married a guy within 3 weeks of our breakup and guess what? She is now over 30 years happily married with 6 kids) I bought my 35mm camera, lights and microphone and film stock with a gimbal and produced a feature film without a crew It was experimental Next was a dramatic narrative for UPenn… I wrote that as I experienced “paying rent” for the first time, which seemed somehow evil and usurious to my generous heart Those challenges of 4 guys paying rent led me to start a novel about a rich kid who has a dozen hanger ons and various friends move in and out but no one blows off the rent… until someone tries a short cut to comprehend the mathematical thesis As I write the communal script I secretly write a novel about falling in love with her- I’ve been focused on the theme: loving someone out of one’s league… Kurt Vonnegut had gotten a copy from his daughter who bartended with my buddy He called me 4 times from private number I ignored it and stared at the PlayStation I answered the fifth call out of pure annoyed resentment, expecting a timeshare pitch, but who should it be? The creator of Cats Cradle and so much else that is original and brilliant and his works hereby partly compose the modern American literary canon But he spent hours helping me become a better writer After that I made a documentary for ESPN and then it was licensed to NETFLIX It earned 4/4 stars USA TODAY “Best sports film ever made” LA TIMES My film was invited to SXSW film festival which is second to Sundance I snuck into Sundance and rented a room to screen my film for all the studios… I got my film sold through the Coen Brothers first agent- a guy they based the Big Lebowski upon- and indeed he was the laziest member of Hollywood but he sold the rights to Chuck D of Public Enemy I began work on SHOOTING STANLEY KUBRICK in 1999 but met my wife and got married in 2001… She is Indian with degrees in Chemical Engineering and Calculus… a law degree and also a PATENT LAW bar passing grade, but she also got an MBA too Meanwhile I’m the guy into metaphysics and movies… without money But I had it… 25 years ago Because my Dad bought an NFL team with a negative net worth… Price? $66 million Value now? $5 billion With a B Too bad he sold I have two children after a 15 year marriage and the divorce messed me up for years Lost million dollar home to foreclosure But me- not my lawyer wife- who fought the foreclosure process by teaching myself to be a lawyer My wife wouldn’t help for one minute despite her law and business degrees, which is exactly the nature of banking dispute The sheriff says the procedure takes 21 days usually to beat owner and evict them I fought harder than that: I kept it going for 9 years and made precedent in PA for foreclosure law My mom got a lung transplant and I became her 24/7 caregiver for 5 years Met a girl 1/2 my age and we fell in love and also became best friends and lived together I’m 52 she… 26 Well she was One year ago this week she died in my arms Four years ago same thing happened with my best guy friend Fentanyl is not a drug- it’s poison I am getting my Masters in Metaphysics and my PhD in Philosophy Take care of 82 year old Dad who hd NFL team and he still hustles daily to be the genius entrepreneur he is Together in 2007-2009 I managed our small thoroughbred horse stable and raced in Philly One horse tied track record and he got a $1,500,000 offer and my Dad passed Dumb Finishing my Kubrick film Plus two screenplays Found maturity and discipline to finish what I once started and abandoned My uncle was GM of Eagles He founded Ronald McDonald House I have one older brother, a businessman, and I like to rap my writing as much as much as I like literature or screenplays Have an idea for two media websites TheStreamNetwork.Com & TheFilmNetworks.Com Monetization/profitability within a year Capitalization/Investment of low 6 figures Grew up making movies at Episcopal Academy with the famous but quite arrogant M Night Shyamalan We were only two film kids at school but had falling out over a mutual FIRST LOVE who was the stunning blonde Princeton bound Jennifer Haines I called Night 3 times over 30 years and he keeps blowing me off My life goal is to make a timeless great film that compels him to one day contact me I am working on a non denominational spiritual theory called FAITHEOLOGY I intend it to be a daily practical spiritual process to mitigate stress/depression/fear My FEATURE FILM about KUBRICK will be finished late this week After that- I’ll do any podcast to discuss Thank you for providing me kindness and interest and positive support I won a Student Academy Award @ for film I made at NYU FILM It’s an Oscar from Academy but a different category I enjoy esoteric reading, witty writing, gaming and horse racing… I feel rejuvenated lately by my creative projects (two scripts almost done as well).Show more
