After discovering that all eight National Park campgrounds along the Blue Ridge Parkway were closed a week early in 2020 due to Covid our five-day tour of the Blue Ridge Parkway in late October had to be altered since we had planned to stay at four of them. So, we decided to quickly switch gears and tour Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park instead.

Skyline drive is amazing and the two nights we spent on it were not enough. There were so many awesome overlooks along its 105 miles as well as three National Park campgrounds.

No ultralight backpacking on this trip but I did get in a good workout on a 6 mile trail run down to see three waterfalls just off of the Appalachian Trail.
This was my final workout before tackling an 85 mile FKT on the Susquehannock Trail in North Central Pennsylvania.
