Ultralight Backpacking the Adena Trace | Trail Running and New Speed Record (FKT) \ Indiana Hiking

The Adena Trace is a 25.5 mile loop that circumnavigates the Southern half of Brookville Lake in Brookville, Indiana, just 25 miles South of Richmond. The trail is very well established on the East side and more rugged throughout the West side, which is the Wolf Creek section, with several nice camping options near the lake and streams that feed the lake.

My original intentions were to just saunter along the trail, enjoy the lake view and find a nice campsite for the night, but sometimes trail running and FKT’s get the best of me! You can find my trail report of the Adena Trace here: https://fastestknowntime.com/fkt/adena-trace-2021-04-15

I packed an ultralight kit for this overnight trip using my Pa'lante Joey pack, Nemo Tensor pad, Enlightened Equipment quilt, a Hammock Gear dynema tarp and only enough food and snacks for one day. I wore Altra Olympus 4.0's. Total weight came in around 12 lbs, which I carried on the entire trail from start to finish.

I definitely want to go back and better my time with only a few lbs in my pack next time.
