Turn the pile: After a few days, use a garden fork to turn the pile, moving the materials from the bottom to the top. This will ensure that the materials are evenly distributed and that they decompose evenly.

Harvest the compost: After several weeks, the compost will be ready to use as a natural fertilizer. It should be dark and crumbly, with no signs of the original materials. Spread it around your plants and garden beds to improve soil quality and provide nutrients for healthy plant growth.
