In the first quarter of 2023, Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway sold $13.3 billion worth of stocks and made limited investments in the US equity market. The company instead used $4.4 billion for share repurchases and invested $2.9 billion in other publicly traded businesses. This move reflects Buffett's belief that the volatile market offers limited appeal, as the company's cash pile has grown to $130.6 billion, the highest level since the end of 2021.
