Universal Culture: An Absolute Affirmation

The idea of Universal culture is something that I spend a lot of time thinking about. Cultural values should capture the essence of what makes people civilized, while also passing on the teachings of older generations to prepare younger generations for more localized navigation on the ground day to day.

Cultures can be graded against an objective foundation and whether or not people find it tolerable, we can be critical of the consequential outcomes of some perpetuated cultural norms.

In an effort to put down relativism and the rush to defend destructive cultural norms under relativistic banners I’d like you to entertain the idea, at a minimum, that evaluation of the consequences of cultural norms within a historical context can give us a solid foundation to be critical of any culture around the world regardless of what culture we are from. It is not a matter of fairness, but objective judgement based on universality and inclusivity as the foundation for human civilization.
