What happens in the 2018 film Pacific Rim: Uprising?

Starring as the disobedient Jake Pentecost is John Boyega, whose famous father sacrificed his life to ensure humanity's victory over the terrifying "Kaiju." Jake Pentecost was formerly a promising Jaeger pilot. Jake is summoned back into action by his former co-pilot Lambert (Scott Eastwood) and a 15-year-old Jaeger hacker named Amara (Cailee Spaeny) after an even more terrifying alien danger has been unleashed on the world.
