Vex The Midianites

This is a difficult passage of Scripture and there are some important lessons for disciples of Jesus Christ to learn. The Jews left Egypt many years earlier and they are toward the end of their Exodus to the Promised Land. Remember, if they had trusted the LORD just after they left Egypt, they would have been able to enter the Promised Land without having to spend 40 years in the wilderness. Sadly, the people feared the giants in the land and murmured against God. Because of their refusal to trust the LORD, He made them to turn around and walk through the Arabian peninsula for 40 years until all those that were twenty years and older at the time had passed away. When we reach chapter 31 of the Book of Numbers, most of the original Israelites have passed away. The LORD calls on you to trust Him. And you can trust Him. You must be willing to humble yourself and submit to the LORD’s leading. The Israelites refused to fully submit to the LORD and it cost them ultimately their lives.
