How to make Legendary Samarkand Bread ???
Samarkand bread is a type of flatbread that originated in Uzbekistan and is known for its unique flavor and texture. While there are many variations of Samarkand bread, the traditional recipe is typically made with flour, water, salt, and sometimes yeast. Here is a recipe for making Samarkand bread at home:
Ingredients:
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon instant yeast
1 1/4 cups warm water
Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and instant yeast.
Gradually add the warm water to the dry ingredients, stirring until a sticky dough forms.
Knead the dough for 5-10 minutes on a floured surface until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Return the dough to the mixing bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rest in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until it doubles in size.
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
Divide the dough into 8-10 equal pieces and roll each piece into a flat circle about 1/4 inch thick.
Place the flattened dough onto a baking sheet and use a fork to poke several holes into the surface of each bread.
Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until it's lightly golden and crispy.
Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Optional step: If you want to add extra flavor to your Samarkand bread, you can brush the surface of each bread with olive oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds or nigella seeds before baking.
