Marcus Edwards stopped Jay Jackson in his tracks with punches at the end of round one during their BKFC 41 fight.

Speaking to dual division BKFC titleholder Lorenzo Hunt, who represented Bare Knuckle News as media at the event, Edwards was given some props from ‘The Juggernaut’ for not coming out timid and that he looked like he knew what he was doing.

In response to Marcus Edwards’ overall feelings about the BKFC debut, Edwards stated,

“Oh man, it was a blast. I mean, I can’t wait to come back. Coming in there, you know, being an MMA fighter, you know, you come in a little different. You don’t start so close. So, you know, it was - you know, I felt a little timid, but I just knew I had to throw my hands. Once I touched him, you know, it was game on. Right back to what I know.”

As mentioned, Edwards does have prior combat sports experience with twenty pro mixed martial arts bouts to his credit. ‘Bad Intentions’ has fought names like Justin Gaethje, Dakota Cochrane, Shane Campbell, Thiago Alves, and Pat Healy under MMA rules prior to this transition to a different combat sport.

As a debutant BKFC warrior, he took on someone who is a strong, proven bare-knuckle veteran in Jay Jackson. Edwards caught an overhand on the top of the right side of his eye. This caused some blurry vision to emerge but something clicked within him. “Knock this mother f***er out” was the operative wording and Edwards came forward aggressively as a result.

Assessing the overall picture of the bout, Hunt gave the new BKFC middleweight an A-plus performance for his efforts tonight. When asked what he’s looking at in the future, Edwards stated,

“Oh, man. I’m ready to go. Next week, two weeks, three weeks, let’s go, man. Let’s get in there. I want to throw. I want to throw hands. I want to get hit. I want to go through some wars. I want to make my way to the top. I’m trying. I’m trying to get that. Not your belt. That’s a little heavy, but I’m trying to get one of them motherf***ers.”
