Protesters chant anti-monarchy slogans in Trafalgar Square

Protesters chanted anti-monarchy slogans as the royal procession passed Trafalgar Square on Saturday, May 6, prior to the coronation of King Charles III.

The protest was organized by Republic, a group campaigning to abolish the monarchy in the United Kingdom.

Protesters were arrested in central London earlier on Saturday. According to the Metropolitan Police, they were held on suspicion of conspiracy to cause public nuisance.
