Chinese President Xi Jinping gave Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha the cold shoulder during an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation photo op in the latter's home country.

In the blatant incident, which was caught on camera, Xi stoically stared ahead to take photos and then glanced at Prayuth, who bowed to him and offered his hand, which Xi spurned, leaving the Thai leader visibly confused.

The awkward encounter took place at a time when the United States was worried about Thailand's rapprochement with China.

After Xi dumped him, Prayuth looked around with his hand out and appeared confused. He then left the stage with his wife.
