Vegan Meat Recipe Tutorial Video

Ingredients:
1kg white flour
750ml water
2 tbs salt

Preparation Time: 4 hours 30 minutes
Cooking Time: 45 minutes
Total Time: 5 hrs 15 mins

Method:
1. Mix the flour with roughly 600ml of the water in a large bowl.
2. Once its well mixed, slowly add the remaining water little by little.
The mixture should become sticky & elasticated.
3. Cover with water to stop it from drying out & leave for 2 hours.
4. Sprinkle 1 tbs salt over the mixture & fold it into itself.
5. Start to strain & rinse the mixture as you fold it.
The water should become clearer.
6. Add the other tbs of salt, cover with water & rest for another hour.
7. Strain off the water & place the mixture on your work surface.
8. Cut it in half & twist it like a rope.
Stretch it a little as well.
9. Tie several knots into both pieces.
10. Put them into a medium sized saucepan with enough hot water to cover.
11. Heat for around 30 to 40 minutes.
Do not let the water bubble, simmer or boil.
12. Strain & leave them to cool down.
13. Once cool enough, untie the knots & tear into pieces.
It should be very fibrous.

Storage:
You can keep the meat in the fridge for up to a week, or put in an air tight container in the freezer.

Serving Suggestions:
Makes over 600g of vegan meat.

Can be used as a substitute for chicken in any recipe, or can be used in combination with vegetable dishes as well as in Stews, Curries, Burgers, Stir Fries, etc....
