Why Do I Wear These Weird (and ugly) Shoes

Why do I wear these weird and kind of ugly shoes? Last event I spoke at, someone says, Adam, is that like a Colorado thing? Why are you wearing those ugly shoes? Those weird shoes. And the reason is I have had problems with my feet my whole life, and it hurts to stand up and it happens to be this, you know, speaking career thing where I spent about 400 hours on my feet in front of audiences in the last six months.

Being up there killed my feet. And then I got into this world of learning how feet work and I ditched all my shoes that have support all my nice boots that I got, and I got these wide toe shoes with no support. They're basically like a slipper and a sock. It turns out that pretty much no support and let your feet do footsy.

Things made my feet feel better, and that's why in all my pictures I got these weird and kind of ugly shoes, but you know, price to pay for comfort.
