Can You Use Equity from Another Property Instead of an Actual Cash Injection on an SBA 504 Loan?

In the real estate industry, equity from another property can be used as the injection for a new construction project or a commercial building that is eligible for SBA financing.

Refinancing the loan on the other property would be necessary for the new project to be a co-borrower. It is possible to structure the deal creatively to use equity from another building.

The video discusses whether equity from another property can be used instead of a cash injection on an SBA 504 loan. In some cases, equity in land that has been purchased or has a large down payment can be used as the injection for a new construction project. For another commercial building that is eligible for SBA financing, the loan on that property can be refinanced to be in first position, and the entity can be a co-borrower on the new construction project. It is possible to structure the loan to use equity from another building as the injection.
