Comprehensive biography of one of the twentieth century's most effective battlefield commanders. In a military career spanning more than five decades, General Douglas MacArthur was a prominent figure in both World Wars, as well as the conflict in Korea. Additionally, his peacetime leadership brought healing and prosperity to post-war Japan, and his institutional reforms led to the modernization of West Point Military Academy.
