In Bevis v. Naperville, the US Supreme Court has ordered the city of Naperville who passed their own version of an "Assault weapon" ban as well as Illinois who later passed their own AWB via the Protect Illinois Communities Act and was later added to the case, to brief the legal issues in response to the request for the US Supreme Court to intervene. The government's response is due Monday, May 8, 2023.
