AG Garland: Proud Boys verdict in Jan. 6 trial is evidence of DOJ’s commitment to defend democracy

At a press conference in Washington D.C. Thursday, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland hailed the guilty conviction of four Proud Boys as a testament to the Department of Justice’s commitment to doing “everything in its power” to defend the American people and democracy. Garland called the DOJ’s criminal probe into the January 6 Capitol Riot the largest and most resource-intensive investigation in the department’s history.
