I used to be connected to a community which promoted a concept called "harm reduction." The aim was to educate people about drug use to reduce the risk of negative impact. The assumption was: people are going to do drugs anyway, we may as well help them do it safely.

I learned that the intent in the harm reduction community is not really harm reduction. It is to make money from vulnerable people who are looking for answers.

Psychedelic research is deeply flawed because from the very beginning, the scientists studying these substances have been under their influence. Think Albert Hoffman, the father of LSD25, now colloquially known as acid. Think about how Timothy Leary and Ram Dass approached their academic study of psilocybin and LSD. All the researchers were on drugs. You wouldn't conduct a study on alcohol, and get drunk with your participants?
