Former President Donald Trump announced that he would be cutting his trip in Ireland short to return to New York to “confront” former Elle columnist E. Jean Carroll’s allegations against him. Speaking to reporters from his resort’s golf course in Doonbeg, Ireland, Trump called the civil rape and defamation trial filed by Carroll a “political attack” as he continues to lead strongly in the polls.
