Major General Yakubu Gowon, the military Head of State of Nigeria implicitly accusing Tanzania, Zambia, Ivory Coast and Gabon of promoting the collapse of the Organisation of African Unity (O.A.U.) through their recognition of Biafra, the breakaway republic that was Nigeria's Eastern Region.
