In 2005, President Hu's Youth Advisor told Wesley Clark that Americans and Britain were friends and Britain give you leadership of the world. China want to be friends with America so you will give us leadership of the world. Now everybody would laugh at this because the united states would not going to cede leadership of the world with china even if we were best friends with china. After the 2008-2009 recession, they no longer say that. They want to take leadership of the world- In technology, finance, whether forcing the united states back into the western specific. Its a much more assertive china today.
