Sen. McConnell backs Speaker McCarthy on debt limit bill

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-AL) told reporters in Washington D.C. on Tuesday that he supports House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) debt limit legislation. “It should be clear to the [Biden] administration that the Senate is not a relevant player this time, they have got to have a measure that can pass the House. How does it pass the House? It has to have the support of the [House] Speaker and I'm behind the Speaker,” said Sen. McConnell.
