South Africa - Cape Town - 02-May - 2023 - Belville refugee camp has been without toilet facilities for more than a month. The group of refugees are still camped outside Paint City since their protest first started around three years ago. The group demanded to be resettled in another country. In November, 2022, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees said: “UNHCR is not engaged in these protest sites. Still, refugees and asylum seekers can seek information and available UNHCR partner services, as can any other refugee and asylum seeker in South Africa.
