4/26/23 Speaker Kevin McCarthy / Limit Save Grow Act passed the House 217-215 Raises debt ceiling

This bill if passed by the Senate would raise the debt ceiling by $1.5 trillion. It would also limit discretionary spending to a 1% increase per year for ten years, far below the projected inflation rate. It also would put back the work requirement for healthy people under 50 years old without children to work in order to receive Food stamps, cash assistance, and other welfare programs. It would also eliminate Joe Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan. The Energy renewable tax credit would be eliminated and all unused Covid funds $30 billion plus $72 billion in additional IRS funding would be clawed back.
