Women Forcefully Arrested Out Of Car
She filed suit, claiming the officers' tactics caused her physical and emotional distress, and asked for $75,000 in damages.
Video from a female officer's body camera shows a male officer first questioned Dunlap through the passenger-side window as she was seated in the driver's seat.
Dunlap's lawsuit identifies the officers as Detective Amanda Bell and Officer Ryan Haddock.
"All you have to do is give me your information, and we make sure you are who you say you are, and then you can be out of here," Haddock says.
In North Carolina, people are not required to produce identification simply because a law enforcement officer asks for it.
WRAL News spoke with former Raleigh Police Officer Lee Turner, who now practices law.
His take is the first two responding officers, and Dunlap, could have behaved differently.
Bell can be heard saying, "Should we pull her out?"
