Mental Health and Hearing from God

There has been an increased awareness of the importance of mental health, both in the Christian community and in society as a whole. As Christians, there can seem to be an added dimension to our struggles, which is the desire to hear from God.

Many people who struggle with mental health find it difficult to hear from God. Depression, anxiety, OCD, paranoid schizophrenia and other mental health conditions can make the subject of hearing from God very challenging.

It is essential to approach the subject of hearing from God with discernment and care. As we navigate our mental health healing and wholeness journey, what about the subject of God’s voice, hearing His voice or hearing from God? I get a lot of questions surrounding this subject.

What does that look like to approach this subject from a healthy standpoint? Today I want to bring to you some pastoral feedback, from decades of teaching, one on one meetings, coaching, counsel and mentoring.
