The European Space Agency recently embarked on a pioneering mission to explore the potential for alien life on Jupiter's moons. The Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer, or JUICE, set off to closely examine Jupiter and its three largest moons: Ganymede, Callisto, and Europa. These moons are thought to harbor massive oceans beneath their icy surfaces, making them possible homes for extraterrestrial beings.
Upon reaching its destination in 2031, JUICE will spend several months orbiting Jupiter, followed by flybys of the three moons. Afterward, the spacecraft will embark on a historic orbital journey around Ganymede, becoming the first spacecraft to orbit a moon in the outer solar system.
The primary goal of this mission is to assess these moons as potential past or present habitats, offering fresh perspectives on the likelihood of alien life within our solar system. For more astronomical news and updates, stay tuned to the Secrets of the Universe.
