Apr. 24, 1963 - Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy said tonight that neither politics nor a defiant Governor George C. Wallace would deter enforcement of Federal Court desegregation orders. He maintained a firm attitude on the issue at a news conference in Montgomery, Alabama on the eve of what he insisted was “a courtesy visit” to the Governor. The Attorney General flew to Montgomery late this afternoon for the first in a series of conferences with U.S. attorneys and other Federal officials in Alabama, South Carolina, and Georgia.
