A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.
Like a gold ring or an ornament of gold is a wise reprover to a listening ear.
Proverbs 25:11-12 ESV

With patience a ruler may be persuaded, and a soft tongue will break a bone.
Proverbs 25:15 ESV

And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell.
James 3:6 ESV

Words have immense power. They can start wars and negotiate peace, heal broken hearts and break bones. Taming the tongue and learning to employ words for good is a difficult and lifelong discipline.
