A company called Echopixel created a 3D augmented reality program that takes 2D scans and converts them into an interactive 3D environment. This allows doctors to be able to see problems in 3D - while moving problem area(s) around for better visibility - rather than the tedious and sometimes ineffective 2D scans they've been using.
