The Double Sheet Bend Knot is even more secure than the Sheet Bend Knot. It is useful with wet ropes, especially if they are of different diameters, but provides a strong join in ropes with even diameters too. It is useful to use where strain is not constant and an ordinary sheet bend may slip.

Steps to tying the Double Sheet Bend Knot:
1. Make the loop in the thicker rope. Take the live end of the thinner rope and place through the loop, beneath the thicker live end and then forward on the outside of the loop and right around it. Bring the thin live end back between itself and the outside of the thick loop.
2. Take the thin live end completely around the loop again and back through the same place on the outside of the thick loop.
3. Draw it tight and ease into shape.

NOTE: Ensure the smaller diameter rope takes the double turn around the larger diameter rope.

THESE KNOTS TEND TO WORK LOOSE IF NOT TIGHTENED.
DO NOT use with smooth materials such as nylon fishing line.
