"Way too old": Biden's re-election bid draws mixed reactions in US

President Joe Biden's re-election bid announcement on Tuesday drew mixed reactions in the U.S., particularly testing if Americans are ready to give the 80-year-old Democrat, already the oldest U.S. president ever, another four years in office.

"I think he's way too old. I think there needs to be an age limit, because I think as you age, your capacities aren't where they should be," Clarksville, Tenn., resident Joanne Garcia said.

Biden's age makes his re-election bid a historic and risky gamble for the Democratic Party, which faces a tough election map to hold the Senate in 2024 and is the minority in the House of Representatives now.
