Faith is righteousness as unbelief is unrighteousness. Neither has anything to do with what works we may or may not do. Only whether or not we have believed in Jesus for eternal life and immortality. This is what Paul teaches us in Rom.4 citing the example of Abraham's faith.
So be like Abraham who believed God without works and received the promise of eternal life.
