Old Age, Biblical Counseling

No matter what our age, we are all passing through the various seasons of life. Those that are wise and well-seasoned in the Word, with years of experience, are known as "elders" 1 Timothy 3-5. And they are to be admired and respected. "Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine" 1 Timothy 5:17. Consider Moses. He was near eighty years old at the time of the parting of the Red Sea and Exodus. And Abraham and Sarah were in their nineties when they had their first son, Isaac, whose descendants formed Israel, the people of God. Most of the patriarchs lived to a ripe old age. It is considered a blessing and reward to have a long life. The Lord says, "that your days may be long upon the land" Exodus 20:12.
