R.I.P. Jah Shaka.
Jah Shaka (died 12 April 2023) was a Jamaican reggae/dub sound system operator and producer based in South East London since the mid-1970s.
His name is an amalgamation of the Rastafarian term “God” and “Zulu”, referring to the Zulu king Shaka Zulu. In the 1980s, Jah Shaka was famous for keeping up his roots and culture agenda, while most UK sound systems followed a Jamaican trend for digital dancehall riddims.
Tune: Jah Shaka - Conquering Dub.
