MACASTRE, SPAIN: A British grandmother, Anne Shields, 67, tragically died after she was brutally attacked by a stray dog that she had rescued four days after being warned by the vet not to adopt it

The dog was left to starve on the streets which she named Choccy so she didn't want to give up on him and instead tried to care for him while she looked for a safe home for Choccy

A 35-year-old Spaniard was identified as the owner of the dog and is being investigated on suspicion of manslaughter but his name has not been disclosed by the police

The dog was shot dead by police while trying to stop the attack against Anne and she died a day later in the hospital due to catastrophic wounds to her arms
