Occult, Biblical Counseling

You mentioned that you have had occult involvement in the past. It would be good for us to make sure that you are totally free from its oppressive spirit. Before I became a Christian, I thought that everything supernatural was of God. Now I know that there are evil spirits who are master deceivers who try to mislead us away from God with counterfeit spiritual experiences. This is a good definition of the occult, "counterfeit spiritual experiences." The Word of God says, "For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light" 2 Corinthians 11:14. The devil and the demonic don't always appear as evil. So it is with gurus today who appear to be holy men and proclaim to be divine messengers. Jesus said, "For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect" Mark 13:22.
