The symbolic Stone of Destiny left Scotland’s Edinberg Castle on Friday for a short visit to London ahead of next week’s coronation of King Charles III. The Stone of Destiny, also known as the Stone of Scone, is a 300-pound slab of red sandstone that has been used for Scottish and English inauguration ceremonies since the early 9th century. The sacred rock will be installed in the chair where King Charles will sit for his coronation on May 6.
