Advanced repetition techniques &

-not the best way to go
You need 5 things
1-train very intensely
harder than body is accustomed to
so it works at getting stronger
2-has to be progressive
as you get more conditioned
you continue to challenge body
3-do it consistently
4-volume & frequency has to be
appropriate for your genetics
[some need only short recovery;
others need longer]
5-support body in recovery &
adaptation
-adequate rest & nutrition
-minimize stress
Doing these will enable you to get as
strong as your genetics allow
Remember that training intensely...
-how hard you work compared to
how hard you are capable of working
over the course of the exercise
Get to a point, even momentarily,
where you ARE WORKING AS
INTENSELY AS YOU ARE CAPABLE
Many get in trouble because their
physical limits are high, but their
psychological limits are lower
-the discomfort in between is new
-they don't know they can move up
Until they do get past the
psychological border and
REALIZE: I CAN DO THIS!
-really, really hurts
-but, it is safe..I can do it
Doing an exercise, training to point
of momentary muscle failure...
-physically incapable of continuing
the exercise in correct form
"At that point, don't proceed"
-adding more work will not increase
the effectiveness of stimulus
