Why No one Shared This Before?! Leonardo Da Vinci Quotes.
Italian painter, draftsman, sculptor, architect, and engineer Leonardo da Vinci (April 15, 1452, Anchiano, near Vinci, Republic of Florence [Italy]–May 2, 1519, Cloux [now Clos-Lucé], France) personified the Renaissance humanism ideal more than any other individual.
One of the most well-known and significant works of art from the Renaissance is the Mona Lisa (ca. 1503–19) and His Last Supper (c. 1495–98). His journals demonstrate a scientific curiosity and technical ingenuity that were millennia ahead of their time.
Leonardo's unbridled thirst for knowledge, which drove everything of his thought and behavior, is largely responsible for his unparalleled reputation, which he experienced during his lifetime and which, after being filtered by historical critique, has remained undiminished to the current day.
By nature and temperament, he was an artist, and he regarded his eyes as his primary source of information. According to Leonardo, sight was the highest sense since it was the only one that could express the realities of experience instantly, accurately, and with certainty. As a result, he began to study everything he observed, and the concept of saper vedere—literally, "learning how to see”—became the central focus of his research.
As a painter, sculptor, architect, and engineer, he employed his ingenuity in every field that makes use of graphic representation. However, he went much further. He studied nature itself, a line of investigation that allowed his dual interests in art and science to blossom. He did this by using his exceptional intelligence, remarkable powers of observation, and mastery of drawing.
