Ukrainian forces targeted a building in the northern part of Bakhmut, in footage posted on Tuesday, April 25, as fierce fighting continued in the frontline city.

Bakhmut has long been a focal point of the war as Russian forces try to revive their military campaign in the east.

Video from Army of Drones, a project run by the Ukrainian government, showed Ukrainian Armed Forces targeting two already heavily damaged buildings in the north of Bakhmut. Army of Drones said the strike targeted Russian forces.

The UK Ministry of Defence said on April 26 that fighting on the outskirts of Bakhmut, especially near the village of Khromove, had increased as Ukraine seeks to maintain control of its supply route to the city.

Heavy, short-range combat was continuing in the western districts of the city, the MOD said, with supply options complicated by muddy conditions.

Ukrainian defenses around Bakhmut now include a much deeper defensive zone, which includes the town of Chasiv Yar to the west, the MOD said.
