When Life Gets Scary: How to Move Forward with Carole Leathem | EP 111
Who knew that the "playlist" feature on your smartphone could be the difference between surviving a trial and completely losing touch with reality?
Carole Leathem had just "lost" her husband of over 40 years. Bill was a pastor, but had recently shown signs of depression, even suicidal ideations. Carole was told she was not allowed to see her husband, that he was a danger to himself and others - particularly her.
The ride home, Carole played song after song on a music streaming service, and eventually formed a playlist she called "When life gets scary" to help guid through those storms we all eventually face.
In this episode, you'll hear why it's absolutely vital to embrace those storms, not run from them, for it is through the trials we build endurance and find the true blessings our Lord has in store for us!
In this episode with Carole, you'll learn:
00: 00 Introduction
03:25 God's gift to us shared through the trials
06:15 How a clinically depressed husband brought forth a breakthrough for Carole
11:30 What to do if you find yourself in a state of depression as a pastor
16:40 The power of audio and music to soothe the soul
20:10 Quit trying to fix everything yourself and surrender to God
23:50 Maintaining emotional, physical, and spiritual health
28:00 We lose a degree of fortitude if we do not embrace the trials
32:10 The tough stuff is what we need to discuss more than anything else
-And much more...
