Mississippi Residents told to lock doors amid search for jail escapees

On Wednesday, law enforcement officials were searching for four inmates who escaped over the weekend from a Mississippi jail that has been under federal scrutiny.

One of the inmates is suspected of killing a man and stealing his pickup truck, the Associated Press reported.

Multiple law enforcement agencies are involved in the search across various parts of the state, and at least one county sheriff’s department has advised residents to lock their doors and not keep keys or weapons in their vehicles.
