Bringing back an old apple tree

It started with an apple tree that is over 30yrs old in 2016. The idea was to cut out the disease and there was a lot. The process has been long in an effort to not remove too much too fast. By year 2021 a storm came through and damaged the top of the tree. This meant removing the whole top part. This year we removed much more then usual and by next year all of the diseased wood should have been removed. We are now in the phase of using new growth to replace the old. Hopefully, we will then have a new structure closer to the ground and easier to take care of in future years.
