On March 26, 1991, five boys aged between 9 and 13 years old went missing after searching for salamander eggs. Their disappearance received massive media attention, and President Roh Tae-woo ordered a massive manhunt. But, it wasn't until September 26, 2002, that their remains were found, showing signs of blunt-force trauma. The investigation remains inconclusive, and theories abound about their deaths. Some believe it was a tragic accident, while others point to military involvement. Unfortunately, the case remains unsolved. These boys' names were Woo Cheol-won, Jo Ho-yeon, Kim Yeong-gyu, Park Chan-in, and Kim Jong-sik. The Frog Boys of South Korea will continue to be an unsolved mystery.
